Analisando o video; Kwan Sau contra ataque em combinação de chute e soco - Analyzing the video; Kwan Sau against attack in combination of kick and punch

Vejamos o video demonstrativo que filmamos ha duas semanas atrás;
Let's look at the demo video we filmed two weeks ago;

In a previous post, I explained how we could use a combination of two basic hands still seen in Siu Lin Tau to create a specific technique (Kwan Sau, using Bong Sau and Tan Sau at http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com. Br / 2016/11 / analyzing-technical-elements-bong-sau.html). Today we will see in a short video, a simple combination of how we can use this movement in combination with other moves to counterattack an offensive sequence of circular kick and direct punch. I will link some older material so that the reader understands that it is adding technical elements to other technical elements and offensive and defensive gestures, using these more basic technical elements coming from the forms, that we can create sequences and complete techniques. Thus, as seen in previous matters, only knowing the shapes of the Wing Chun system does not mean knowing how to use it in combat. It is necessary to understand the "how" and the "why" of each movement contained in the forms and how this will be expressed throughout the training and in its unfolding.

Na verdade, a parte mais importante do Wing Chun é entender seus conceitos. Os conceitos do sistema são a pedra fundamental. Sem entender os princípios subjacentes ao estilo, ele simplesmente não irá funcionar, ou terá  alguma deficiência em algum nível de compreensão. Você pode ser um exímio lutador, mas se não entender os princípios mais básicos do sistema, não estará aplicando o Wing Chun. Então, para esta análise em específico, é preciso que antes, o praticante de Wing Chun tenha entendido e internalizado um dos princípios mais importantes do sistema Wing Chun; A diferença que existe entre o que é cobrir e o que é bloquear golpes. Vamos a um breve resumo;

In fact, the most important part of Wing Chun is to understand their concepts. The concepts of the system are the cornerstone. Without understanding the principles underlying the style, it simply will not work, or will have any deficiencies in some level of understanding. You may be an accomplished fighter, but if you do not understand the basics of the system, you will not be applying Wing Chun. So, for this specific analysis, the Wing Chun practitioner must first have understood and internalized one of the most important principles of the Wing Chun system; The difference exists between what is cover and what is blocking blows. Let's take a brief summary;

Diferença entre Cobrir e Bloquear golpes
Difference between Cover and Block

To block an attack, it is necessary that before you see the blow coming, that you know with which hand (or foot) the opponent is attacking, at what angle, with what type of attack, to then select the movement to which you Will react and then act in fact. You need before a series of actions before you can actually block a blow coming towards you and even then you run the risk of not doing it in time, since the opponent's move is just him and nothing else. You will always be late if you try to block your punches all the time.

Covering is a key principle within Wing Chun. It refers to the idea that we must always be one movement ahead of your opponent. Therefore, I do not bother to block the opponent's blow, but cover a certain area. When we close a certain angle, the other side will be automatically opened, so it will be necessary, even before the opponent makes an offensive move, to close that other side as fast as I can and counterattack together. Never getting idle. Because if you only cover and cover ... and do not attack, an hour, the opponent will hit you, because nothing is 100% in combat, that's the reality. To be a forward motion, I need to be faster than my opponent to close the angle and hit it together, so simultaneous movements are the basic premise. You must have read somewhere that the best defense is the attack is not it? Covering involves anticipating the opponent's movement by acting first. Anticipating and acting will be actions that are faster than seeing and reacting.

In this video, my training partner tries a very common and usual sequence; High kick followed by direct punch. This combination is very basic and usually an experienced fighter never makes a kick or a more forceful attack without putting himself at a distance that favors his movement and always with some preliminary movement. However, some fighters also trigger that same kind of sequencing without much concern in keeping themselves covered. It is worth watching your opponent well during training or fighting. Upon realizing my opponent's attack, I turn my body to the left to cover the entire upper flank, using Kwan Sau, turning the base (Joh mah). In this case, I expose my elbows to the opponent's attack to cause him to discourage me from continuing to attack me by putting two hard shots against the only follower of the opponent coming toward me and potentiate my coverage by turning to the left. Closing this angle without having to think about it much, I turn my body to the other side and cover the right flank with Pak Sau while attacking Soh Gurk at the same time.

Note, the most basic Pak Sau is executed with a punch (yat ji jung choy) as counter- Attack, becoming Pak Da. However, there are variations and re-combinations that are seen during training, like this one. Pak Sau is usually seen in Siu Lin Tau (http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2016/05/siu-lin-tau-revisitado-siu-lin-tau.html) and in the form, there are Less 4 types of Pak Sau. In the case of this combination, the Pak will clear the area previously exposed, regardless of whether the second attack comes or not, or regardless of which hand the opponent will continue its sequence, it does not matter. While covering the entire area, Soh Gurk performs a function that does not necessarily strike, but catching the opponent's attention, distracting him from seeing his next move; Din Choy as finale (http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2013/08/din-choy-soco-da-batalha.html).

Once again, the corporal spin is executed and when taking the attention of the opponent with a low kick, that nevertheless, it hurts, I follow to the sequence of closing with Din Choy. As in the case of the video, it is a training, I did not release all the punch, there would not be the need for it and because it is very close to my training partner, it would probably hurt too much, since I am not wearing gloves ... Even So the idea is not to stop with that single attack. After this finish, the idea is to continue the attack with punches, kicks, elbows, etc ...

As variation and response for the same attack combo, I do Lan Gurk (http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2015/11/wing-chun-fighting-drill-bonglan-gurk.html), closing The left flank with Tan-Lan Sau, and I advance the base covering the same side previously opened with Lap Dar (http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2015/09/lap-sau-na-technica -for-fighting.html) for the response of the continuation of my opponent's combo combo, and I keep beating a second time, repeating the Pak Sau, shortening the distance by 45 degrees, being able to continue to attack in the short distance with elbows, giving Following.

I suggest to your friends readers to open the links mentioned here to better understand the concepts explained here. But as a reminder, I suggest that regardless of where you are in the Wing Chun system, whether you are a beginner student or even a SiFu, always go back and train your most basic principles and movements. Never neglect them. For it is they who will tell you how good you will be when you reach the advanced levels and how much you can refine them for future studies.

Um feliz ano novo chinês á todos.
A happy Chinese New Year to all.

Coluna Fala SiFu; Ip Chun dá conselhos sobre Siu Lin Tau

SiFu Ip Chun é talvez o filho mais conhecido do Patriarca Ip Man.

SiFu Ip Chun is perhaps the best-known son of the Patriarch Ip Man.
 The fact is that even with an advanced age, Ip Chun continues to teach and practice. It is very interesting to see that, despite the trend in Southeast Asia that kung fu is 'something for the elderly', many young people perceive in it the possibility of learning something valuable. I myself am a great admirer of Ip Chun and his methodology, considering that my contact with this family was through my training partner Thiago Clozout, who practiced some time in this lineage in Portugal.
His deep knowledge of Wing Chun's art and its transmission are remarkable. So I share with you a short excerpt from one of his many texts on the first form of the Wing Chun system and hope that our fellow readers will appreciate it.

''Para praticar a forma Siu Lin Tau;

'' To practice the form Siu Lin Tau;1 - You should keep your whole body, including your mind, relaxed. When I teach beginners, mostly older people, I prefer that they stay relaxed rather than concentrating too much on developing a perfect placement. Experience tells me that correcting wrong placements is very easy, but turning a person into a relaxed person is by far more difficult.2 - After opening the base correctly, no other part of your body should move other than your hands. Your shoulders, head, trunk or legs should not move throughout the first part of the Siu Lin Tau.3 - Try to perform all movements as slow as possible. However, you have the discretion to do so appropriately. Many Wing Chun teachers try to push their elbow into the center line while executing Fuk Sau (controlling hands). As they push their elbow forward, they try to imagine that there is a heavy object in front of the Fuk SauWhich tries to stop its movement in its forward movement. Therefore, they use more force to execute it, pushing the Fuk Sau with the back of the hands. The goal of practicing that way and if you keep practicing like this, the muscles in the back of your hands will develop strongly. But even after a long practice, the practitioner will even find it difficult to relax his body or his hands. So why do people comment on this error?

By keeping their strength at the elbow and pushing it toward the center, students think they can build Gong Lik (type of force applied NT). In fact, as a small plant starting to grow, if you force it to grow rapidly, it will surely die. You can not force internal force. It should develop naturally.

Deixe-me dar um exemplo.

The purpose of the second part of Siu Lim Tao is to learn how to use force. In most forms of combat, the person with the greatest strength usually wins. This is not the case in Wing Chun, however. Wing Chun is different. It's a martial art, so you have to know how to use force. How do you know how to use force? It's very simple: you use it when you need to use it. When you do not need to use it, do not use it. Never waste your energy and time. How do you know when you need it and when you do not need to use force? Let me give you an example. We usually punch someone in order to injure them or cause them pain. However, think about how they will actually feel the injury or pain. They will not feel pain if you are holding the fist before you punch. Nor will they feel pain while you are controlling your fist during the ride. It is only when your fist reaches them, during the short time you come in contact, that the other person feels pain or gets hurt. So even if you use all your strength when you punch or while your fist is in the way, they will not feel anything. Only when your fist makes contact with your body will they receive all their energy. This is when the power of your punch is felt and this is the principle of how to use energy.

After attacking, if you continue to use force, you will not cause any additional pain or damage to the enemy, on the contrary, you can cause injury to yourself. So there is only a short period when you use force when attacking, and that is just before contact with your opponent. This is where we can use Fa Ging. That's enough. Anything before that. Or after that it is a waste. Bruce Lee called it an "inch punch," some other Wing Chun practitioners call "Long Range Fa ging." I call it 'Fa Ging'.

Fa Ging takes time to achieve. Although very easy to describe, it is very difficult to do. Only after a long period of training can one achieve a good level. In this second part of Siu Lim Tao, you not only experience how to use Fa Ging, but also learn how to train Fa Ging in many different ways.

Treinamento básico de habilidades
Basic Skills Training

The third part of Siu Lim Tao contains all the basic hand positions and basic training traits. All martial arts have their basic positions and skills. The basic positions of Wing Chun's hands are very simple: Tan Sau, Bong Sau and Fuk Sau. There is a proverb, 'If you are good at Tan, Bong and Fuk, people will listen to you'. So how do you become good at Tan, Bong, and Fuk Sau? There are four main things you need to learn:

1 The correct position of each Sau.
2 The applications of each and how and when to use them.
3 How to use energy, time and position.
4 How to think ahead and be able to deal with adversary like his hand changes position.

The above are all the things you will learn when practicing Chi Sau. As you practice more, you will slowly begin to understand the positions of hands, their applications, the use of energy, and manipulation of an opponent. In Wing Chun the basics are very important because the skill depends on the accuracy of the position. It is similar to geometry. Understanding the angles and their relationship with you and your opponent is crucial to good skill. However, the most important thing is to start by relaxing both; Your mind and body. This will help you increase the sensitivity that is crucial to having good hands. Once relaxed, you should practice the first section of Siu Lim Tao slowly, with time to feel the energy beginning to develop. In the last two sections Siu Lim Tao, you should focus on making the movements clear and clean. Although these sections run faster, the movements should not be overcast or mixed. This will also help you learn the correct hand positions.

Finally, another important point to consider in the form is not to jump or climb on your toes. Your body should remain level and not move up and down. Then relax and let The energy sink for Dantien (the area just below the navel where Qi is stored). The weight of your body should be on the upper thighs And the back should be straight during the practice, with the shoulders Back, not bent forward. If you stiffen your shoulders, you will block the passage of air into your lungs.''

Até a próxima pessoal.
 See you later

To start the year 2017, we will do a little introduction to the Wing Chun system, so that this text is directed to people who have not started their training, but who is curious to know a little about this martial art. I tried to summarize the information as much as I could and to clarify some points in a simple way, to facilitate the understanding. I hope you enjoy it.

Doubts and questions, can send to the email aldarylucena@hotmail.com

Wing Chun Kung fu
Wing Chun Kung Fu
Ip Man foi o ultimo grande patriarca do estilo.

( O patriarca Ip Man)
( The late Grandmaster Ip Man)

È dito que o Wing Chun possui apenas três formas. Mas isso se refere às formas de mãos vazias do sistema. Todo o sistema Wing Chun é composto por seis níveis (ou fases vivenciais, ou mesmo domínios) de treinamento e que são divididos em duas trilogias. Essas fases recebem o nome de suas respectivas formas e contém todo o cerne teórico e prático do sistema. Essas duas trilogias subdividem o treinamento em duas fases distintas; O treinamento de mãos livres do sistema e o treinamento com aparelhos subsidiários ou adicionais e armas.  As três primeiras fases do sistema wing chun e as suas respectivas formas são denominadas;

Wing Chun Kung Fu is a martial art from southern China and has around 450 years. Its elaboration is attributed to an Abadessa called N'g Mui and its development had its modern apogee from the years 40/50 in Hong Kong with the arrival of Chung Si Ip Kai Man, popularly known like Yip Man, coming from FoShan (Fatsan ), To the island that was then, British protectorate. Ip Man was the last great patriarch of the style. The transmission of the Wing Chun system remained restricted to the familiar cycles and only select people had access to the knowledge until Ip Man '' opened the doors '' to the public when teaching the art in Hong Kong publicly.

In theory, Wing Chun advocates the use of biomechanical force through the joint action of the base, hip and shoulders (for lines that work the long bridge) or the base, hip and elbows (for the lines that work the short bridge), the Use of intelligent strategies to save time, space, and energy, and the idea that a weaker and smaller person can break free from a bigger and stronger attacker from proper technique rather than brute force, always striving to attack at the smallest distance Between your weapon (hands and feet) and the chosen target, covering and attacking simultaneously . It also advocates the structural use of the body as the main tool for the technical execution and application of its concepts and principles in uncontrolled situations.

Wing Chun is said to have only three forms. But this refers to the empty-handed forms of the system. The entire Wing Chun system consists of six levels (or experiential phases, or even domains) of training and which are divided into two trilogies. These phases are named after their respective forms and contain the whole theoretical and practical core of the system. These two trilogies subdivide the training into two distinct phases; The hands-free system training and training with subsidiary or additional appliances and weapons. The first three phases of the wing chun system and their respective forms are called;

Siu Lin Tau
(Algo como ''Pequena ideia inicial'')
Chum Kiu
Biu Ji
( Dedos penetrantes, ou Dedos voadores, ou ainda Bússola padrão)

Onde podemos considerar;

Siu Lin Tau

(Something like '' Little imagination '')
Chum Kiu
(In our family, we call it '' Sinking the Bridge '')
Biu Ji
(Penetrant Fingers, or Flying Fingers, or even Standard Compass)

Where can we consider;

Siu Lin Tau - The first, most basic and most important level or stage of the entire Wing Chun system. It gives us the most basic movements and concepts of the whole system and will form the theoretical basis where the whole system will structure itself. It is the most elementary form, but at the same time, the most important of all. A good command of the Siu Lin Tau will make the practitioner have good control of all subsequent phases.

È considerada a fase intermediária do sistema.

Chum Kiu - Second form of the system encompasses the training together of the triad, base, hip and shoulders and focuses on mobility. It is considered the intermediate phase of the system. At this stage, the practitioner initiates additional Chi Sau training, which aims to develop practitioner-specific skills, in addition to first contacting "the eight wing chun kicks" in its most elemental form.

Biu Ji – È considerada a fase avançada do sistema.

Biu Ji - It is considered the advanced phase of the system. Biu Ji emphasizes the generation of strength through the shoulders and the generation of force through the shoulder girdle and shoulder blades. The so famous '' one-inch punch '', immortalized by fighter / actor Bruce Lee comes just from there. It also has a more elaborate strategy for combat and adds more advanced techniques in Chi Sau and refines the base moves while adding the training of more kicks.

 Para os treinamentos adicionais, teremos;
For additional training, we will have;

(SiFu and his Kung Fu Brother Cleber Domingues few years ago)

Fighting Drills; Adding the technical elements that consist of and come from the forms, with other technical elements and basic movements, we can create combinations and re-combinations for the technique of effective fight. The training consists of Jow Sau, hands in repetition, which is nothing more than to repeat these '' tools of combat '' or these combinations along with a training partner who will attack in an incisive way.

Chi Sau; It is an exclusive training of the wing chun system and is not found similar in any other fighting style. It develops the notion of covering spaces in a short distance, in addition to attributes such as reflexes, rapid reactions, body structure, among others.

Lap Sau; The attributes seen in Chi Sau can be worked on in this dynamic exercise of position exchange, being a very specific work.

Maai San Jong; Sparing training in the circle. It consists of a circle of 5 people and one in the center. The person in the center will have to apply the techniques of the system against the most elemental attacks of the circle attackers, who can realistically hit the blows. But the wing chun practitioner will have to control his counter-punches. It aims to train the movement, basic rotation, quick reaction among other habits.

Kui Noi Gerk (Eight kicks of Wing Chun) Or Kick With no Shadows or even Kicks under the skirt; Refers to the training and development of the kicking energies of the system. Wing Chun is popularly known as a style that has few kicks, but this is not at all true. System kicks are extremely arduous to practice and extremely strong.
A segunda trilogia do sistema é o que chamamos de trilogia avançada ou trilogia superior. Engloba o treinamento com aparelhos adicionais e as armas. Formam os últimos níveis do sistema estruturado do Wing Chun e demandam que o praticante já possua conhecimento da trilogia anterior. São eles;

The second trilogy of the system is what we call the advanced trilogy or top trilogy. It encompasses training with additional devices and weapons. They form the last levels of Wing Chun's structured system and demand that the practitioner already have knowledge of the previous trilogy. Are they;

 Moy Fah Jong; Consiste em dois aparelhos que visam refinar as técnicas vistas nas formas de mãos vazias das fases anteriores e os chutes do sistema wing chun, sendo respectivamente;

Moy Fah Jong; It consists of two devices that aim to refine the techniques seen in the empty hands of the previous phases and the kicks of the wing chun system, respectively;

Muk Yan Jong; The famous wooden man. Its shape consists of 108 movements (having some 116 versions or even 118 movements). It is a device that seeks to improve the refinement of the techniques previously seen. After learning its shape, the practitioner learns to "dismantle the wooden dummy," meaning that he uses the combinations and techniques seen in the form of the wooden dummy in combat.

Gerk Jong; Pillar of the plum blossom; It consists, in its simplest form, of three distinct posts in a triangular shape, planted in the ground, which aims to train the movement combined with the kicks seen during the previous forms. There is no standard in the form of Gerk Jong, you can start your form with any kick and in any positioning.

Luk Dim Boon Kwun - Six-and-a-half point bat. It consists of a long stick, much like a giant billiard club, about six feet high. Their strength training is extremely difficult and their form is relatively short. At this stage, Chi Kwun training is also performed, which is the exercise of sensibility through the staff. In some families, this is the last phase of the training, since its bases are completely different from the previous ones seen in the system.

Pa Chan Tow - Knives of eight cuts. In this last phase of the training, it is imperative that the practitioner has developed the force through the pulses. Knives represent in the Chinese tradition the cut of the SiFu-Todai relationship, often being the last technical knowledge to be transmitted.

It is said that Wing Chun is a system. This is because each movement, each experiential phase is an integral part of a whole that complements and develops from its concepts. Thus, a partial knowledge of the system will not cause the practitioner to become a master of the system. It is necessary that the practitioner complete all structured phases so that it can be recognized as SiFu. Therefore, understanding the ways, learning the techniques and training them with a partner is the easy part. The hard part is to make them become your second nature and you can apply them in real combat. Train them to the point that when you need them, you do not have to think. It just acts in a positive way.

Basic training of the entire Wing Chun system curriculum takes an average of 3 to 5 years, often in 4 years the practitioner understands all stages of training including weapons. However, even after many years of training, the student will always have his SiFu as a benchmark.

These are, in summary the main points of the training of the 'Wing Chun system. Obviously there is much more involved, such as their ceremonial, the ways of dealing with their seniors, the study of their concepts and principles, as well as the cultural knowledge involved in art, which has as much importance as technical knowledge.

Por hoje é só.

Qual é a importância das formas no sistema Wing Chun? What is the importance of Forms in the Wing Chun system?

Most people when they look for something on the internet about Wing Chun will come across innumerable videos of various versions and different styles of Wing Chun. Some will cause confusion among practitioners of some variation of the system, as they will not look familiar at first, and some will go so far as to say that it is not Wing Chun.
This is especially evident when we see different ways of executing the forms of the system, especially the Siu Lin Tau, which is perhaps the way to have more videos spread across the web. From renowned masters to "anonymous" practitioners, various versions of the form are easily found.

Some people, in the eagerness to learn about the system, believe that '' decorating '' the sequence of form, be it Siu Lin Tau, Cham Kiu or Biu Ji, will have access to the '' level '' or '' domain '', Or will be able to master the form and phase itself. Aside from the Wing Chun system itself encompassing so many other things, nothing could be so far from the truth. I do not mention even the most copied form of all and fetish of 99% of the guys interested in Wing Chun, Muk Yan Jong ...But if we pause a bit to think about the true importance of learning kung fu forms ... And by the way, I will specify - since for each style, we can have infinities of possibilities and answers for that same question - we can start thinking In what motive or reason why it is so important to learn and have the correct understanding of the shapes of the Wing Chun system. What makes the Wing Chun system have such peculiar and most important forms; The '' How '' and the '' why '' of each form be as it is. This we will discuss in this brief article. My wish is that we can extend the dialogue on the subject with the contribution of the older and senior practicing friends of the Wing Chun clan.

O que são as formas no Kung Fu?
What are the forms in kung fu?

(Kwan Sau in the form Chum Kiu; Technical elements put together to generate a specific technique)

Forms, or routines in Kung Fu are a set of structured and sequentially organized movements that aim to develop specific attributes that will be used throughout the system or style, either in two exercises, or in San Sik (separate technique) or San Sau ( Techniques of struggle). The routines, or forms, or here in Brazil popularly known as Tao Lu, or Katis (in Chinese for the equivalent of Japanese Kata) in most Kung Fu styles seem to the lay eye, an "imaginary fight", where The practitioner performs offensive and defensive movements, moves his base, advances and retreats, attacks with punches, kicks, and other movements, often remembering a dance, due to its plastic beauty. However, the origins of its development are linked to local, cultural, and period influences.The attributes developed can be from balance, coordination and strength, to a neuro-muscular, respiratory or therapeutic work, depending on the style.

(Hook Punch at the end of the second part of the Chum Kiu form; Some technical elements end up being forgotten by most Wing Chun practitioners. There are not only chain punches in Wing Chun!!! Hooks also exist and also have technical deployments far beyond Which it simply pretends to be)

In our branch of Wing Chun, we understand the way a '' book of hands '', a collection of ordered placements in a sequence where we will have technical elements, not technical techniques.

For example, when we observe a kata of some karate style, we can see that its movements already contain ready techniques, with basic moves, defense postures and attack with hands and feet, remembering a "fight against an imaginary opponent" As stated above. No Wing Chun not; We will have in our forms only the technical elements that will be used in combination with other movements, to generate a single specific technique - which can obviously be placed in different situations and adapted to the needs - for what we call '' application ''.

Se você puder colocar a técnica, seja ela qual for, no tempo certo, ela será efetiva.
In Wing Chun, forms contain extremely symbolic elements in their nature and are in general movements that depend more on energy and angle, than necessarily explosion and brute force. This is due to the fact that timing is the most important thing within the technical application. If you can put the technique, whatever it is, at the right time, it will be effective. For timing to be good, it is necessary first to have a series of developed elements, among them, good angulation and knowing how to put the energy (nothing of Chi or Ki, or Kame-Hame-Há, or whatever ... The proper effort at the correct time and direction is read into the movement. The forms of the system will work this in a conceptual way.This means that a technical element such as Lan Sau, for example, first seen in Siu Lin Tau, may have technical developments related to its application, if added to other technical elements inherent to the system, and that may be adapted according to the situation . This will make this movement visually speaking even remember the movement performed in the form, depending on how it will be used.

(Kwan Sau with base rotation, coming from Lan Sau,;  first part of the Chum Kiu form)

Conseguem perceber a ideia?

In addition, the force generators for each movement can also be worked in the form and even some movements to be used in exercises like Chi Sau and Lap Sau can be seen within the forms. The practitioner must, at a given moment, try to analyze the technical sequences of the form, in an isolated way or in small groups, trying to obtain the most important; The idea behind every move.For example, when opening Wing Chun shapes, crossing Kan Sau double hands and running into the double Tan Sau quickly, as if it were a single movement, the idea here is not to be fast enough, Or make the movement explosively, but rather the concept that by crossing the center line, using those movements, you can execute in an uninterrupted way, like a '' follow up ''. That is, it should not allow interruptions once the movement from one angle to another begins, in the case of this movement in the form, from the bottom up. This will reflect in the technique of fighting when once you initiate an attack, you can continue the attacks not only with one or two blows, but with 5 to 7 continuous blows from different angles. Can you see the idea?

Therefore, we should not underestimate the forms in Kung Fu, or more specifically, in the Wing Chun system, but we should not overestimate them. Understanding the form does not mean the ability to apply them in free fighting. Having the notion that you can understand movement and apply it in one or two patterns does not necessarily mean that these techniques can not be adapted and put into unusual situations and recombined with other ideas. This is called feeling, sensitivity! For that very reason that '' the best technique is not having technique '' is the central idea of Wing Chun. And this will come from understanding the ideas behind the forms and what each can mean, without delimiting your own ideas, after all, you should always think outside the box.Resultado de imagem para ip man siu lim tao

( Chung Si Ip Man em três elementos técnicos, dois da forma Siu Lin Tau; Wu Sau, Fook Sau e Kwan Sau na forma Chum Kiu)
(Chung Si Ip Man in three technical elements, two of the form Siu Lin Tau, Wu Sau, Fook Sau and Kwan Sau in the form Chum Kiu)

Ela dará ''todas as mãos do sistema''.

In our specific case, the most important form of the whole Wing Chun system is the first, Siu Lin Tau. It will give "all hands of the system". It will give the most basic and most important positions to understand exercises, bases and techniques that will be seen throughout the system. That way, it does not matter if you have a good Biu Kwuan, or a good Baat Jam Do, if your Siu Lin Tau is not good, it's no use ... Incidentally, nothing is likely to be good.

However, the other forms also have value within the system obviously. Chum Kiu will expand upon the first form, giving them additional positions and moves, giving the basic idea of kicking, and moving while maintaining balance and Biu Ji, the third of the empty-handed trilogy will work even more Attributes and refinements in a situation less obvious than the first two and will generate force through the shoulders. Basically, the three forms are different ways of thinking about the same subject and all of them will bring specific strategies for how to fight.There are several other factors, both general and specific, why shapes are important, but basically you should always think about how to extract the basic idea of your strategy from them so that you can apply them in free fighting.But the most important is; No matter how visually the wing chun forms may look or if you can not execute it exactly equal to your SiFu, or equal to any famous master. What matters is that you can perform any structured movement in your own body and in your own way of doing, obeying the inherent principles of the system.

Até a próxima.
See you later
