Hello guys.
Today I will inaugurate a column that may not continue - I do not really guarantee the continuation - but it was already an old idea; Technique of the Day.

The 'Technique of the Day' is a term I have used in my personal training for a long time. I choose a specific technique to practice and I spend the entire training period, often days and weeks, just practicing this technique in specific. And today, I would like to talk a bit about an unfolding exercise for the Laap Sau with kicking.

Laap Sau using the elbow to break the opponent's frame and using kick as a complement.

The first thing we see is Laap Sau's basic workout. For you who lost the post about Laap Sau here on the blog, we gave here a small introduction to this component and basic exercise, so I will not go deep. Just click here.
The idea is to start from the basic cycle work of this exercise which is a theoretical complement to what is also taught in Chi Sau; Covering spaces instead of blocking and identifying the training partner's technical flaws while you keep an eye out for your own technical flaws, anticipating situations before they set.
Thus, we set out for cycle work; At this point it is necessary that you can coordinate your work using the Bong Sau and the Yat Ji Jung Choy punch, always aiming to occupy the space. This work is done very firmly, hard even, always aiming to gain space in relation to the opponent.

If you notice, in photos one and two, I'm doing Laap Sau with my training partner, helper, and student Eduardo, who is much shorter than me. Actually this does not have much problem, but for me that I have a bigger wingspan, I can use this as an advantage for the next step ... The most important thing in this cycle work is to maintain your position, with enough criteria, Base, which should be firm, with coordination work with base, hip and shoulders

When positioning for the punch, before returning to Bong Sau, removing the arm of the training partner, I prepare the pull (laap in more generic terms means '' pull ''), coordinating this with my basic spin job, To '' pass the elbow forward, breaking the structure of my training partner's position. And we use a kick to break the partner's balance.
An addendum here; Many people try on exercises like this, or on Chi Sau, kick the opponent's chest! This is totally ridiculous! If my training partner tries to lift my leg and kick my stomach with a Ding Gurk - frontal kick - for example, I do not even bother to defend; It is enough that I shorten even more the advancing distance and it will lose the balance going back. The kicks of the Wing Chun system are called "kicks under the skirt" precisely because they are aimed at the lame-femoral region, ankles, knees, etc. Given the short distance and bridge work that we will see later, This kick in the stomach or chest becomes unfeasible. So we'll use a kick, but in a smarter way ...

( Foto 3)

Turning my horse, I use this Laap case to pull the arm of my training partner, who was positioned offensive and pass my elbow going forward, in this case here, I can use my height as an advantage to gain more space than normally The technique would ask ... I keep turning my base in Joh Mah (turning my horse) ...

(Foto 4 e Foto 4.1)
( Picture Four and 4.1)

When I complete the turn of my horse, I use my elbow to not give space to the opponent, catching his arm and preventing him from getting hit with an elbow in the ribs. This photo is not yet '' momentum '', that is, it is not the time when the technique is really in place. This so that you can see that my left hand continues to hold my training partner's left arm while I keep my attack. Note also that he covers the space where he would pass the punch with his right hand ...

(Detail from the timing of the technique.) My right elbow locks my opponent's arm down and forward. This is an important part of this technique. The idea of sinking the bridge, as we translate the Chum Kiu in our school, is expressed in this movement, which Sigung Li Hon Ki called the '' Way of Lap Sau '')

(Foto 5)
(Picture five)

Once I realize the defense of my training partner, I pull the opponent's arm in the opposite direction, exactly as done in the third part of the Biu Ji form and make a strong pass to firm the base and perform Soh Gurk, sweep kick , To break the base of the opponent, unbalancing it and completely breaking its structure.

( Foto 6)
(Picture six)

Upon returning from Soh Gurk, I further firm my base and perform a lateral palm stroke, Wang jeang, seen on Siu Lin Tau, using my two arms; While one attacks - in the case of the photo, my training partner has already completely lost his balance and has already '' given up '' - the '' back '' to the guard, I can continue attacking or covering the area, If he tries to '' take advantage of the chore promoted by my kick and try a '' kills dog '' punch with his right hand.

Well folks, I hope you can take advantage and think of more technical solutions for this exercise. If you liked, share and comment here what technique you would like us to detail here in the Blog.

Até a próxima

See you later

Qual é a importância das formas no sistema Wing Chun? What is the importance of Forms in the Wing Chun system?

Most people when they look for something on the internet about Wing Chun will come across innumerable videos of various versions and different styles of Wing Chun. Some will cause confusion among practitioners of some variation of the system, as they will not look familiar at first, and some will go so far as to say that it is not Wing Chun.
This is especially evident when we see different ways of executing the forms of the system, especially the Siu Lin Tau, which is perhaps the way to have more videos spread across the web. From renowned masters to "anonymous" practitioners, various versions of the form are easily found.

Some people, in the eagerness to learn about the system, believe that '' decorating '' the sequence of form, be it Siu Lin Tau, Cham Kiu or Biu Ji, will have access to the '' level '' or '' domain '', Or will be able to master the form and phase itself. Aside from the Wing Chun system itself encompassing so many other things, nothing could be so far from the truth. I do not mention even the most copied form of all and fetish of 99% of the guys interested in Wing Chun, Muk Yan Jong ...But if we pause a bit to think about the true importance of learning kung fu forms ... And by the way, I will specify - since for each style, we can have infinities of possibilities and answers for that same question - we can start thinking In what motive or reason why it is so important to learn and have the correct understanding of the shapes of the Wing Chun system. What makes the Wing Chun system have such peculiar and most important forms; The '' How '' and the '' why '' of each form be as it is. This we will discuss in this brief article. My wish is that we can extend the dialogue on the subject with the contribution of the older and senior practicing friends of the Wing Chun clan.

O que são as formas no Kung Fu?
What are the forms in kung fu?

(Kwan Sau in the form Chum Kiu; Technical elements put together to generate a specific technique)

Forms, or routines in Kung Fu are a set of structured and sequentially organized movements that aim to develop specific attributes that will be used throughout the system or style, either in two exercises, or in San Sik (separate technique) or San Sau ( Techniques of struggle). The routines, or forms, or here in Brazil popularly known as Tao Lu, or Katis (in Chinese for the equivalent of Japanese Kata) in most Kung Fu styles seem to the lay eye, an "imaginary fight", where The practitioner performs offensive and defensive movements, moves his base, advances and retreats, attacks with punches, kicks, and other movements, often remembering a dance, due to its plastic beauty. However, the origins of its development are linked to local, cultural, and period influences. The attributes developed can be from balance, coordination and strength, to a neuro-muscular, respiratory or therapeutic work, depending on the style.

(Hook Punch at the end of the second part of the Chum Kiu form; Some technical elements end up being forgotten by most Wing Chun practitioners. There are not only chain punches in Wing Chun!!! Hooks also exist and also have technical deployments far beyond Which it simply pretends to be)

In our branch of Wing Chun, we understand the way a '' book of hands '', a collection of ordered placements in a sequence where we will have technical elements, not technical techniques.

For example, when we observe a kata of some karate style, we can see that its movements already contain ready techniques, with basic moves, defense postures and attack with hands and feet, remembering a "fight against an imaginary opponent" As stated above. No Wing Chun not; We will have in our forms only the technical elements that will be used in combination with other movements, to generate a single specific technique - which can obviously be placed in different situations and adapted to the needs - for what we call '' application ''.

Se você puder colocar a técnica, seja ela qual for, no tempo certo, ela será efetiva.
In Wing Chun, forms contain extremely symbolic elements in their nature and are in general movements that depend more on energy and angle, than necessarily explosion and brute force. This is due to the fact that timing is the most important thing within the technical application. If you can put the technique, whatever it is, at the right time, it will be effective. For timing to be good, it is necessary first to have a series of developed elements, among them, good angulation and knowing how to put the energy (nothing of Chi or Ki, or Kame-Hame-Há, or whatever ... The proper effort at the correct time and direction is read into the movement. The forms of the system will work this in a conceptual way. This means that a technical element such as Lan Sau, for example, first seen in Siu Lin Tau, may have technical developments related to its application, if added to other technical elements inherent to the system, and that may be adapted according to the situation . This will make this movement visually speaking even remember the movement performed in the form, depending on how it will be used.

(Kwan Sau with base rotation, coming from Lan Sau,;  first part of the Chum Kiu form)

Conseguem perceber a ideia?

In addition, the force generators for each movement can also be worked in the form and even some movements to be used in exercises like Chi Sau and Lap Sau can be seen within the forms. The practitioner must, at a given moment, try to analyze the technical sequences of the form, in an isolated way or in small groups, trying to obtain the most important; The idea behind every move. For example, when opening Wing Chun shapes, crossing Kan Sau double hands and running into the double Tan Sau quickly, as if it were a single movement, the idea here is not to be fast enough, Or make the movement explosively, but rather the concept that by crossing the center line, using those movements, you can execute in an uninterrupted way, like a '' follow up ''. That is, it should not allow interruptions once the movement from one angle to another begins, in the case of this movement in the form, from the bottom up. This will reflect in the technique of fighting when once you initiate an attack, you can continue the attacks not only with one or two blows, but with 5 to 7 continuous blows from different angles. Can you see the idea?

Therefore, we should not underestimate the forms in Kung Fu, or more specifically, in the Wing Chun system, but we should not overestimate them. Understanding the form does not mean the ability to apply them in free fighting. Having the notion that you can understand movement and apply it in one or two patterns does not necessarily mean that these techniques can not be adapted and put into unusual situations and recombined with other ideas. This is called feeling, sensitivity! For that very reason that '' the best technique is not having technique '' is the central idea of Wing Chun. And this will come from understanding the ideas behind the forms and what each can mean, without delimiting your own ideas, after all, you should always think outside the box.Resultado de imagem para ip man siu lim tao

( Chung Si Ip Man em três elementos técnicos, dois da forma Siu Lin Tau; Wu Sau, Fook Sau e Kwan Sau na forma Chum Kiu)
(Chung Si Ip Man in three technical elements, two of the form Siu Lin Tau, Wu Sau, Fook Sau and Kwan Sau in the form Chum Kiu)

Ela dará ''todas as mãos do sistema''.

In our specific case, the most important form of the whole Wing Chun system is the first, Siu Lin Tau. It will give "all hands of the system". It will give the most basic and most important positions to understand exercises, bases and techniques that will be seen throughout the system. That way, it does not matter if you have a good Biu Kwuan, or a good Baat Jam Do, if your Siu Lin Tau is not good, it's no use ... Incidentally, nothing is likely to be good.

However, the other forms also have value within the system obviously. Chum Kiu will expand upon the first form, giving them additional positions and moves, giving the basic idea of kicking, and moving while maintaining balance and Biu Ji, the third of the empty-handed trilogy will work even more Attributes and refinements in a situation less obvious than the first two and will generate force through the shoulders. Basically, the three forms are different ways of thinking about the same subject and all of them will bring specific strategies for how to fight. There are several other factors, both general and specific, why shapes are important, but basically you should always think about how to extract the basic idea of your strategy from them so that you can apply them in free fighting. But the most important is; No matter how visually the wing chun forms may look or if you can not execute it exactly equal to your SiFu, or equal to any famous master. What matters is that you can perform any structured movement in your own body and in your own way of doing, obeying the inherent principles of the system.

Até a próxima.
See you later

Materia sobre artes marciais no Diário de Pernambuco - Article About martial arts in the Diario de Pernambuco

At issue this weekend the most traditional newspaper Pernambuco, the Diario de Pernambuco did a article on how the practice of martial arts can help to improve the quality of life of young people and adolescents. This article was made with photos taken during our Wing Chun Kung Fu Applied in free combat with our younger students, Matheus who made the picture with me and Isadora bandeira, which gave a cool statement.

Although the article is properly spare and logically written by a journalist who reaped few testimonials and did not specify much about Wing Chun, the article was very thorough, talkong about kung fu widely. The interviews are consistent enough with the way we train the younger specifically in Wing Chun. Below, I transcribe here the article in full. I hope you enjoy.

O poder do Quimono* (sic)

''Eu adoro as aulas. Hoje, Bia releva.'' Comenta Priscila Pedrosa.

The power of Kimono

By Marcela Assis.

'' Martial Arts awaken children's imagination early. Through cartoons, action movies, sports like Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi Chuan, Karate and Kung Fu gain space in the infant universe. In addition to physical activity, the fights are a source of mental and body balance.

Derrubando mitos sobre Wing Chun Kung fu - Overturning myths about Wing Chun Kung fu

As mentioned in the last post, many of our new would-be practitioners or newly arrived students of our core Brazilian Wing Chun Academy in Recife arrive for a first contact with the Wing Chun already has some preconceived ideas about what is Wing Chun, or what was supposed to be the Wing Chun system. This turns out to be good and bad at the same time. Good for the fact that the person who comes, already has interest and certainly  researched about it. Bad on the other hand, as there is an endless sea of existing and misinformation that can lead to confusion.

This is not new. There is a lot of material about Wing Chun on the Internet, whether in written or video articles. Like today, the Wing Chun is spread around the world in numerous schools and numerous branches, known to be '' lineages '' with its own curriculum and methodologies often these variants cause confusion among the lay public who are not used to the fact that there are several schools Wing Chun, which often use the same name written same way, but differ completely from each other. In some cases, there are very similar schools, but in general, all these schools has its own characteristics that only one article in particular could list comprehensively.

In most cases, each school claims to be the only, or true, or closer to the root or legitimate. Unsurprisingly happen - not only for historical reasons and traditional issues - but an unspoken competition for power, influence or political issues. In fact, in all these discussions, people do not include the technique or relegate the technique to the background, and in the end, it ends up having other directions that do not matter at all who are looking for a serious school. Or, at best, make people even more confused.
And in most cases, people have come a little more discredited in the Wing Chun efficiency, since many of these same materials found in various websites, articles and videos show disputes between Wing Chun fighters against other types of struggle and usually the Wing Chun fighter loses the fight or when wins no wins convinced way. The Wing Chun fighter picks up as much as your opponent or not fight taking on some strategic advantage that is clear. Much less win easily.

Why then does this happen? Is there any reason for that to happen? Maybe we can get an idea if we analyze some myths about the Wing Chun system, so we can draw a profile because the people have misconceptions about the system. For this, I ask the indulgence to the reader that I express based on what I learned and I've been learning with my SiFu about what is in fact the Wing Chun system. Obviously I intend to write based on my own experiences and studies, which may restrict some issues. However, as here can also be a discussion forum, I'm open to receive corrections of my seniors, no problem, if necessary. As always, also I do not claim to speak for all my Wing Chun family, but if some of my brothers Kung Fu wish may contribute to the article. This would be of great help.

ESPECIFICIDADE DO SISTEMA WING CHUN; ESTILO ''RESOLVE TUDO''???
Specificity of WING CHUN Sistem; STYLE  that'' RESOLVE EVERYTHING IN FIGHT '' ???

Some teachers spread the idea that the Wing Chun system is effective against any kind of fight or against any martial art style. Usually this discourse is linked with an arrogant attitude of 'untouchable master' 'or in some form of' 'superior attitude' 'and what happens is that when the' 'master' 'fight - when is the kind of guy still fighting - does not seem to be as good as he says. It has happened several times Wing Chun fighter end up picking a any other style fighter. Here in Brazil, Jiu Jitsu fighters or the old '' Vale Tudo ( anything goes)'' had a habit hit a lot in those said '' kung fu masters '' precisely because of this kind of attitude.

What happens is that those teachers do not understand that Wing Chun works in a very specific way and although it has a strong feature toward unrestricted confrontation in non-controlled environments, the system by itself does not solve everything in a fight. The specificity of the system is to focus on the fight standing, one on one, with hard blows (punches, kicks, elbows, knees) that -using a sporting term - over strikers features than grapplers, in short, prioritizes the fight standing and not the ground fighting. This explains why often when brought to the ground, the Wing Chun fighter looks like a fish out of water but, becomes easy prey against an experienced fighter on the ground.
However, the system has Wing Chun 'solutions' in the effective 'anti-fall' environment and can be easily applied. They do not allow you to fight on the ground like a judo fighter would, but you can set aside some of their movements to escape and return to fight, or not let the fight go to the ground. Often I say; - '' If you fight on the street and is shot down, dead! Falling into a street fight means death! ''

The Wing Chun fighter despite fighting that way, standing as a striker, has the tendency to not exchanging free striking blows. It is not strategically smart you exchanging blows with the opponent, especially if he has some kind of advantage (either size, speed, scale, strength, etc ...). The Wing Chun fighter will have to be smarter than your opponent and know how to use the principles of art fight. So, have a good basic trained and have the concepts of internalized system if you really want to apply the system.

CHAIN PUNCHES/ ARTE TEÓRICA DEMAIS?
CHAIN Punches / theoretical art to the extreme?

Another feature of the Wing Chun system is that if you do not understand the principles and concepts behind each exercise, each fighting technique or if there is some misunderstanding about the technical elements and how the technique originated, the style will not work, or you can not apply it as proposed. The problem is that '' understand '' the concept goes beyond simply listening to the theory and understand what is being said. The system theory is eminently practical, says SiFu. Understand the theory is easy, the problem is to put it into practice! It is for that that the training will serve! This will give parameters on how you can actually see in action what it prioritizes as principles in the Wing Chun system. One of our mottos is the famous quote from Budah; - 'Application is the only way to verify the truth' '.
This makes the Wing Chun system is well known for being a system '' conceptual ''. But in fact, the theoretical knowledge is unique and unique is not enough if it is not put in practice.
SiFu say that there is no point if you study engineering 5 or 7 years in college, receiving his diploma and yet to be formed, it is not able to erect a building. So one of my favorite sayings is that '' The value is not what you know but what you do with what you know '.

Another feature of Wing Chun, the best known of the general public is their way to attack with punches and continued in sequence. These punches are given the nickname '' Punches barrier '' or '' chain punches '. Donnie Yen made these punches stay well known with your version of Chung Si Yip Man in 'Ip Man'.  But the Wing Chun system resumes only just to chain punches?
What happens most often is that regular fighters of Wing Chun are starting from nothing to come out firing endless punches and that in the end, can not hit strikingly the opponent. And this shows a breakdown of the system principles and I explain; Whenever the Wing Chun fighter can fit a heavier blow, the tendency is for him to continue attacking without giving chance to the opponent to recover, but only if he can fit successfully a previous stroke with knockout power. This is what we call 'follow up' ', ie to continue. Without it, no use firing punches in endless sequences to get the opponent. It's a waste of time!

Similarly, it has no logic down to punch an opponent who is on the floor. Donnie Yen does it almost all the time in his films and when I see it, I wonder; - '' What a hell he did it? ''

If the center line (seen here on the blog) is to remain always in the shortest distance between the target and your weapon (either foot or hand), has no logic you get down to punch someone. It would be easier to kick him, if any. Similarly, if I throw a high kick to hit with my foot to the opponent's head, I'm breaking this principle because I'm taking the long way to the target. .

WING CHUN USA MAIS AS MÃOS DO QUE OS PÉS E GOLPES EM LINHA RETA
WING CHUN USES MORE THE HANDS THAN FEET AND BLOWS IN STRAIGHT LINE

In fact, Wing Chun is a style originated in southern China and notably arising styles of southern China, for historical reasons, has its emphasis on hand movements and attacks within walking distance. But that does not mean we do not use kicks. Kicks in Wing Chun are in their lower most, because they follow the same central line principle for the hands; that is, we will always remain in the shortest distance to the chosen target. Hands defend line blows to the waist, feet and defend the waist down, that is, we will never lower our hands to defend blows below the belt line. We will in fact cover these areas, regardless of the opponent's movement. Also used crossed strokes, whenever we are strategically positioned so that following the same principles inherent in the system.

As the use of straight line, this come from a misunderstanding regarding the '' economy of movement ''. People often think that saving movement is running short strokes, straight, usually no gain additional strength to power his punches. But save movements within the Wing Chun system logic is; Waste the least possible moves. No matter whether they are circular motions, waveforms, etc ... what matters is that this movement can have an effective strategic use. So, I can after a dodge and a cover, which I use a full retreat base, use a kick starting from a side position to hit the opponent's ribs. Wing Chun is still the same way ... Or can feint a knee going from bottom to top order the ribs of the opponent and attack with a straight punch with border hand ... It will remain Wing Chun, as long as I fooled and the hit!

So not only we use kicks and punches combined, but we use punches and kicks crossed and we will use the principle to hold a minimum of unnecessary movements and maximum useful moves. Using, says Sitaaigung Duncan; - '' The right tool for the right service '.

WING CHUN VS O MUNDO TODO (???)
WING CHUN VS THE WHOLE WORLD (???)

In our school, we do not usually put a Wing Chun practitioner to train against another Wing Chun practitioner all the time attacks. In fact, when you practice some exercises inherent as Chi Sau, Lap Sau, you need someone experienced in Wing Chun to train with you. Now, when it comes to fighting techniques, what we do is put the Wing Chun system to work against the strongest attacks from other fighting styles within our specificity. With what I mean is that we can put the same traditional system techniques, common for many families and make them work against other styles of attack sequences, such as MMA, Muay Thay, Karate, Kickboxing, Western Boxing, etc. ... For this, we need to understand that every move can mean and work your potential.
This is not to mix the Wing Chun techniques with other styles at all. But note in the form of movements, which each concept means in practice and strengthen the system by the system itself. This makes our movements seem strange and different from other families of Wing Chun. But in fact, all that we train are movements of Wing Chun. For example, instead of using the classic system guard (with both hands pointed to the opponent), we observed how the opponent is behaving and assume a posture, exposing an area deliberately, so that when he strikes at the time we want, we can now close the area and catch him in the counter, which is a feature of the system; We always work on counterattacks.

But that does not mean we take a defensive posture. If we have to block blows all the time, we will always be at least one movement at a disadvantage in relation to the opponent. View and block are slower actions to anticipate and counter-act. Therefore, we will cover the area and not the blows. And we will hit him together, simultaneously.

LENDAS DO MESTRE IP MAN; O INVENCÍVEL
LEGENDS OF MASTER IP MAN; THE INVINCIBLE

Since this is a sensitive issue. Many people because of the movies, have the idea that Chung Si (Grand Master) Ip Man would have fought 20 karate guys who have broken or worn - in some versions - the barrel of a gun, or was it some kind of modern budah, which allegedly reached martial lighting at some point in life.

All these assumptions are part of the imagination of Chinese martial arts practitioners and are so widespread, that come to be confused with the truth.
The fact is that Chung Si Ip Man was an accomplished fighter, because he could devote to practice during his youth fully, since his family was wealthy and he had no need to work, because there were no difficulties or external problems to stop their practice.
However, with the war, Ip Man lost his fortune and long, went through difficulties ever thought through. Sitaaigung Duncan says that during a period, Ip Man even had a blanket in cold weather, and asked for a loan to a student, who shortly afterwards asked back.
Some say that he was invincible, reports indicate that it was actually an accomplished fighter .... But perhaps one of its most striking features was the fact that he has passed through two extremes in life and still maintained his position as a martial artist , facing all the difficulties very brave way.

PORQUE EXISTEM TANTOS WING CHUNS DIFERENTES?
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY WING CHUN DIFFERENT?

This is always an issue addressed in a first class and even in discussion forums on the Internet the question is always the same; Because there are so many families of Wing Chun and because there are so many Wing Chun style differences?

The truth is that Ip Man taught only one Wing Chun. But as it is certain that if you teach the same thing for 10 people, those same 10 people will not perform the same exactly the same task (it has different body sizes, different weights, different heights, etc.). Moreover, to be an extremely conceptual art, Wing Chun opens possibilities of interpretations and modifications, based on personal experience of each practitioner.
Ip Man had several students and each of them, the light of his understanding can understand the system also based on their own experiences.

Making a comparison; Take a combat sport like boxing, for example. You can learn Jab, straight punch, cross punch, etc., combinations, footwork and dodging. All a core curriculum known to many practitioners of this same struggle. But what causes a Mike Tyson is different from a Cassius Clay or an Evander Hollifield? Certainly are not fighters exactly the same techniques, but supposedly learned the same thing. It is precisely the fact of how they train the training and what they learned from their experiences that will tell how they are like fighters. What are your strengths and how they develop these qualities.

Com o Wing Chun é a mesma coisa. Você aprende Siu Lin Tau, Chum Kiu, Biu Je, Chi Sau, Muk Yan Jong e Gurk Jong, Luk Dim Boon Kwun e Bat Jam Do.

With the Wing Chun is the same. You Can Learn Siu Lin Tau, Chum Kiu, Biu Je, Chi Sau, Muk Yan Jong and Gurk Jong, Luk Dim Boon Kwun and Bat Jam Do as the same way. William Cheung, Sitaaigung Duncan Leung, Moy Yat, Bruce Lee, Wong Shun Leung, Leung Ting among many others, supposedly learned the same thing, but Chung Si Ip Man probably encouraged them to develop their potential, worked its attributes and each had their experiences in struggle, each interpreted the system based on these experiences, which certainly helped to form their cores for teaching art. For this , they are different.

Not to extend too much, just say that Wing Chun system today is no better or worse than any style. What makes art be respected is that we know our strengths and weaknesses, know what is the specificity of style and we can draw useful system even to everyday experiences.
