Esta postagem de hoje é realmente especial. Trata-se de homenagem para aquele que foi sem dúvida nenhuma, um dos nomes mais importantes para que o Kung Fu no Brasil fosse o que é hoje; uma arte consolidada como uma das mais fortes em toda a américa latina. Iremos falar um pouco sobre meu SiGung, Li Hon Ki, introdutor oficial dos estilos Wing Chun e Hung Kuen no Brasil, que faleceu no ultimo dia 02, deixando uma imensa família kung fu, uma imensa família kung fu e o legado de uma lenda.
Faremos de forma bem simples até, pois por mais que tentemos honrar a memória de uma pessoa tão importante, e este blog sendo tão tosco como é, com total certeza, não estaremos homenageando á altura que ele merece. Mas tentarei fazer aqui o meu melhor. Por isso, convido você, amigo leitor á memorar a trajetória deste que foi um verdadeiro ícone para as artes marciais chinesas na América Latina.

Uso o verbo no presente pois seu nome continua sendo respeitado e será sempre respeitado, como tenho percebido nesses últimos dias. Na noite em que recebi a notícia de seu falecimento, meu telefone não parou de tocar! Recebi ligações inclusive de outros países, como E.U.A, Grécia e Hong Kong, da comunidade wing chun nacional e internacional, todos consternados com sua repentina partida.
Eu me perguntava
'' Como não havia percebido tal relevância antes?''. Quer dizer, todos nós sabíamos de sua grande contribuição para as artes marciais tradicionais chinesas (AMTC), mas eu realmente não esperava que tantas e tantas pessoas ao redor do mundo pudessem sentir tanto.

Mestres de outras escolas e de outros estilos de kung fu homenagearam-no com belos e concisos textos, mensagens e vídeos pela internet. Mas talvez as homenagens mais relevantes tenham sido aquelas que pouco apareceram na dita '' grande mídia'', mas que foram de coração. Por exemplo; A seletiva para o mundial de Tai Chi fez um minuto de silêncio antes de começar suas atividades durante este fim de semana, em São Paulo. Já a nossa escola, tanto a escola Sede em Salvador quanto nosso núcleo em Recife fechou por 3 dias. Houve cerimônia antes de SiFu reabrir a escola e aqui em Recife, fizemos um treino especial, dedicado á sua memória, também iniciando com um pequeno discurso.
Várias outras escolas de kung fu em vários estados do Brasil também prestaram respeito e luto pelo Mestre Kay, como também era conhecido. Registro aqui nosso muito obrigado e um obrigado especial ao ShiFu Marco Antônio Seschi e ao ShiFu Nelson, que perdeu um querido Si Hing recentemente.

SiGung Li Hon Ki nasceu em 02 de fevereiro de 1952, em Hong Kong. Filho de Li Kan Man e To Sin Mui, seu interesse pelas artes marciais, assim como de seu irmão Sibaakgung Li Wing Kay, começou bem cedo. ainda na adolescência.

Sigung Li Hon Ki was born on February 2, 1952 in Hong Kong. Son of Li Kan Man and To Sin Mui, his interest in martial arts, as well as his brother Sibaakgung Li Wing Kay, began early. in adolescence.

Sigung Li Hon Ki começou a praticar o Wing Chun ainda na década de 60. Ele dividia um quarto em Hong Kong com seu irmão Li Wing Kay e o amigo Tam Chi Cheung, que foi seu apresentador formal para Ho Kam Ming.
Um tempo depois, praticou Wing Chun diretamente na escola de Chung Si Ip Man. Neste período, Ip Man apenas supervisionava a escola. Mesmo assim, durante muitos anos, SiGung sempre relembrava com carinho de seu período na escola de Ip Man.
Logo após o falecimento de Chung Si Ip Man, SiGung Li Hon Ki praticou com vários outros professores como Koo Sang, Ng Chan, Nge Ken Poo, concluindo o sistema com esses e os outros mestres.
No fim da década de 70, chega ao Brasil e começa a lecionar, abrindo sua primeira academia em São Paulo. Seus primeiros discípulos nessa época foram; Claudio Ramires Vasques, Leo Imamura, Newton Filizola entre outros.

No início dos anos 90 Sigung Li Hon Ki já era figura célebre no meio das artes marciais chinesas. Suas constantes viagens para os Estados Unidos, junto com seu irmão Albert Li fizeram com que ele realizasse inúmeras demonstrações de sua arte marcial naquele país. A essa altura, ele já era reconhecido como o primeiro mestre de Wing Chun pela Hong Kong Ving Tsun athletic association e pela Yip Man Martial Arts institute residente na américa latina.
Em 1992 foi apresentado ao seu derradeiro SiFu, Duncan Shiu Hung Leung ( Duncan Leung) por seu irmão Albert Li durante uma de suas viagens aos Estados Unidos. Tornou-se discípulo de Duncan Leung e aperfeiçoou seu Wing Chun treinando por mais de 10 horas por dia, residindo na própria residência de Sitaaigung Duncan. Atuou como instrutor assistente de sua escola em Virgínia Beach sendo membro vitalício da Duncan Leung Wing Chun Academy.

Em 1996 escreve seu livro ''Ving Tsun Kung Fu'' , que auxiliou a muitos praticantes do sistema Wing Chun a entender sua teoria inerente. O Livro hoje é um clássico e dificílimo de se achar. Nem mesmo em sebos você terá facilidade de encontrar, caso queira!

Em 2010 foi convidado por Sitaaigung Duncan para supervisionar a unidade de ensino do Applied Wing Chun em Pequim - China. Também lecionou Wing Chun pelo programa de treinamento universitário patrocinado pelo governo chinês.

Li Hon Ki nos últimos anos atuava, ainda que discretamente em suas famílias Kung Fu no Wing Chun e no Hung Gar. Mostrando um espírito forte, como sempre foi, continuou suas atividades até o fim, não se retirando de todo das atividades, como costumeiramente acontece com mestres que possuem uma longevidade grande nas artes marciais, mas ele continuou atuando mesmo enfrentando uma doença. Trabalhou ininterruptamente pelo Kung Fu.
Ano passado, Sigung Li Hon Ki fez uma visita á SiFu em sua escola em Salvador, onde conversou por longas horas com SiFu e pôde acompanhar de perto como estava e está sendo feito o trabalho desenvolvido pela Brazilian Wing Chun Academy. SiFu conta que foi um momento especial, pois mesmo tendo concluído todo o sistema com Sigung e este dando autorização formal para que SiFu prosseguisse seus estudos com outros membros da família internacional, indo em 2009 pra china com sua benção, SiFu o tinha por grande estima, como não poderia deixar de ser.

Como estudante de sua família, me sinto um tanto frustrado por não tê-lo conhecido pessoalmente. Uma das vezes em que SiGung estava de visita marcada á Salvador, eu tentei de tudo para viajar coincidindo as datas para que pudesse encontra-lo e não consegui. Mas vez por outra, durante meus treinamentos, SiFu sempre me contava alguma história sobre seus feitos, ou alguma estória mais engraçada, e eu sempre notava um respeito e uma admiração muito grande nas palavras de SiFu.
Meu Si-Dai Fábio postou em meu facebook uma estória bem engraçada de um jovem que estava fazendo tratamento com SiGung para parar de fumar e ao terminar a sua sessão, SiGung puxa um cigarro e começa a fumar...questionado pelo seu paciente , a resposta espirituosa de SiGung foi;
- ''Quem quer parar de fumar é você, não eu...''

Isso porque um grande homem, com tantas histórias e um legado indubitável como foi SiGung Li Hon Ki, fica difícil de ser colocado em um texto simples como este e acredito, outros também não o conseguirão. Confesso que não sei como terminar esse artigo e acredito que muitos que escreveram sobre ele nas ultimas semanas também se sentiram assim. Mas uma coisa é certa; Seu legado continuará tão forte quanto o foi em vida.
