Pra quem assistiu o primeiro filme e se encantou com tudo ali, da trilha sonora, ao enredo, e obviamente as cenas de ação (e esse sim, um grande filme) ''Ip Man 2'',no entanto, já foi um tremendo balde de água fria! O filme, que tem uma primeira parte bem interessante, tornou-se da sua metade até o final, uma versão chinesa para ''Rocky IV'', com o estrangeiro desafiante que mata o amigo-rival do herói e todo aquele clichê de filmes em que o personagem principal teve de treinar muito e trazer ''a honra para sua comunidade''...e o impagável Sammo Hung atuando em mais uma franquia sobre Wing Chun. Mais uma pro seu vasto curriculo, na verdade. Tá sei...
For those who watched the first movie and was delighted with everything there, the soundtrack, the plot, and obviously the action scenes (and that yes, a great movie) '' Ip Man 2 '', however, has been a tremendous cold water! E ai passaram-se alguns anos e vieram o terrível; The legend is Born; Ip Man - que agradou a poucos e The Grandmasters, esse sim, na minha opinião,é e continua sendo o melhor filme sobre Wing Chun e artes marciais chinesas dos últimos tempos,chegando perto inclusive de um filme que considero ''O'' filme de artes marciais, insuperável de todos os tempos; Operação Dragão, de Bruce Lee. Sem contar o biográfico Ip Man; The final Fight que tem um belo enredo,mas que sequer passou perto da qualidade de The Grandmasters.

Mas a expectativa toda estava realmente em cima da continuação da saga ''Ip Man'' com Donnie yen, já que ele encarnou o patriarca Ip Man tão convincentemente no primeiro filme, que não tinha como não ficar ansioso pelo terceiro filme...E ai muito se foi divulgado. A presença de Mike Tyson (!) no terceiro filme e até mesmo a possibilidade de Bruce Lee aparecer em efeitos digitais no filme deixavam o público e principalmente os praticantes de Wing Chun ainda mais ansiosos...A expectativa só aumentava...As cenas que chegavam em pequenos ''pedaços'' aguçavam ainda mais a curiosidade daqueles que esperavam que o terceiro filme fosse disparado, o melhor de todos!

Quando inúmeros sites de compartilhamento postaram o filme - a essa altura já lançado na Ásia e nos EUA - com legendas em português terríveis, mas minimamente legíveis - obviamente fui assistir. Dessa vez não quis ver os arquivos que me foram enviados por amigos praticantes de outros países, arquivo esses com audio original em chinês e sem legendas em inglês ou português, já para não ter uma impressão parcial. Mas fui lá ver o filme, mesmo com esses pequenos problemas. E o filme é talvez o pior de todos...e não, não foi culpa da legenda...Confesso que após assistir Yip Man 3, passei até mesmo a simpatizar com The Legend is Born, que de tão ruim, sequer mencionei aqui no Blog na época de seu lançamento e mesmo assim, não vou postar fotos desse filme aqui!When many sharing sites posted the film - by now released in Asia and the US - with subtitles in Portuguese terrible, but minimally readable - obviously I watch. Ip Man 3, ou ''O grande Mestre 3'' não empolga; O roteiro é muito fraco, os personagens extremamente caricatos, dos pequenos gangsters, aos personagens centrais...Donnie yen conduz Ip Man entre personagens sem muita expressão, lutas sem qualquer sentido aparente, clichês batidos e isso dá a impressão de que ele não tem muito o que fazer ali...está apenas servindo pra justificar o título do filme. O modus operandi do Ip Man desse filme, continua o mesmo; sujeito calmo, de fala mansa, sempre com alguma lição moral á ser passada...

O filme abre com a famosa cena de Bruce Lee pedindo para ser aceito como discípulo ( outro clichê bastante explorado nos outros filmes e que incrivelmente não aparece tanto neste) e chutando cigarros para mostrar o quão rápido pode ser...Se o filme contivesse alguma mensagem anti-tabagista, tudo bem. Mas o Ip Man de Donnie fuma o filme inteiro,quando não está solenemente sentado em sua cadeira tomando chá e olhando o nada...provavelmente pensando na vida...
The film opens with the famous Bruce Lee scene asking to be accepted as a disciple (other cliché extensively explored in other films and incredibly not appear much in this) and kicking cigarettes to show how fast can be ... If the film had some anti-tobacco message, all right. But Ip Man Donnie smoke the whole movie when not solemnly sitting in his chair drinking tea and looking at nothing ... probably thinking about life ...
Mike Tyson parece um ''Chefe'' de videogame dos anos 80, com toda aquela pompa de ''Chefão malvado'', sem nenhuma expressão, muito embora, ainda melhor interpretado que Danny Chan fazendo um jovem Bruce Lee cheio de gestos espalhafatosos numa imitação tão ruim quanto aqueles atores que fizeram sucesso nos anos 80 com a febre do ''Bruceploitation''.
Mike Tyson looks like a '' The Boss '' 80s video game, with all that pomp of '' Godfather evil '', without expression, though, even better interpreted Danny Chan doing a young Bruce Lee full of flashy gestures in imitation as bad as those actors who were successful in the 80s with the fever of '' Bruceploitation ''.

Esses dois personagens poderiam facilmente não estar ali...não fariam a menor diferença...já o personagem de Max Zhang, Cheung Tin Chi, entra na história como um outro praticante de Wing Chun, ''menos ortodoxo'' e que desafia Yip Man pelo título de ''Autêntico Wing Chun''.
È, amigo, é isso mesmo...Wing Chun versus Wing Chun pra saber quem é realmente, o detentor do Wing Chun...parece familiar? Sem sentido, é claro...mas bastante familiar...

Nem mesmo sequer Wing Sing, a personagem de Lyin Hung, escapa; Ela é a parte central do toque de dramaticidade que o filme tenta imprimir. Só que com um enredo tão consistente quanto aquele café frio de uma manhã de sábado após uma ressaca das brabas, nem mesmo se ela chorasse o tanto que as personagens de Thalia nas novelas mexicanas, não traria nenhuma graça ao filme...
As cenas de luta, aliás, continuam as mesmas de sempre...não há nenhuma novidade. Talvez as melhores cenas do filme - tirando aquela base baixíssima que Donnie faz contra Tyson e que se alguém identificou pra que raios serve aquilo, por favor, comente aqui - sejam realmente a de Ip Man vs Frank, e as lutas com as Pa Chan Tous entre Ip Man e Cheung Tin Chi. Mas em todas as outras, há um certo exagero...Esqueça o cara do Muay Thay! Tudo se resumindo á Chain Punches e Dung Gurk...Ah, a vida seria tão bela se fosse assim...

O resto do filme é bem redundante e não acrescenta muita coisa. Realmente, o filme não empolga da abertura até os créditos finais. Só quem realmente for fanático por qualquer filme chinês vai gostar. Se tem gente que curte Bruce Lee ressurgindo da tumba pra nocautear a morte ( !!!!), vai ter gente que vai gostar de Ip Man 3...
