Taking the opportunity of the high court in recent posts - see interview with Si Fu Leo Imamura and recent news in the world of wing chun - tacit and my lack of time to post here on the blog, I will enjoy this last bit of late, little before starting my schedule in my regular job (and probably conclude this matter already during my working day), to discuss the latest sessions wing chun occurred at our school here in Recife.

First of all, it is good to clarify that while I was teaching in a reputable martial arts school, I do it with the formal authorization of my Si Fu, not with the intention of opening a trade school, but with the intention of having training partners. Many people think not, but the wing chun need yes, there are at least two people to be able to practice it, so that deal with certain aspects of the fight alone, would try to simulate something like learning to ride a bike, sitting in a bench and swinging her legs. Probably your sense of balance will not be trained and to try riding a bike really, will probably fall. Therefore, the phrase Si Fu 'Nobody grows in wing chun alone', is extremely true (and in fact, I never forget).

So the guys who have trained with me are perhaps the most important piece in school. Not so much by just being there just for a certain period of time, but by the act and by the practice itself. Those who are training with me here today are different from those that have gone through the training and gave up because they are firmly following the basic assumptions to develop their Gung Fu.

Despite this point, all my 'students' and training partners are having contact with the first phase of the wing chun system, Siu Nim Tao.
It is very interesting to see how everyone reacts differently and understand the concepts inherent in the training phase and basic.

Some of the guys feel more difficulty absorbing certain movements, while others seem to have an incredible ease both in the execution, as the theoretical understanding at certain points.

When we get to school, always clean the mat (not particularly like to train on the mat, but ok) and, once properly prepared to start, checked with our equipment, observe the reverence to the masters (which contains a small space photos Si Fu Sigung and Sitaaigung, and Si Jo Yip Man) near the training bags in the corner.

Whenever we start to our training session with a warm and soon after we move to form Siu Nim Tao (pictured). Begin to practice Siu Nim Tao form with will ultimately, is a way to train concentration for training that will come during the session. Elias Júnior and  Ialley Lopes are two guys who can carry the most Siu Nim Tao without so many errors will be corrected and managed to capture the feeling well on the way to practice is to extract from it, the fighting technique.

José Júnior, for example, is graduated from the school Shifu Julius Kushida, in Northern Shaolin. After a 'reality shock' (basic premise of our savior in school and always reproduce here), began his training in wing chun us. It's a super talented guy and very fine people. Here, he helps me with the (Seung) Chi Sao, with exercise which is beginning to take its first steps, after a period of persistent training in Tang Chi Sao.

(Chi sau - an exercise designed to teach us the mental conditioning and react to certain situations it will often before they actually materialize)

Often, José Júnior, always refers to this exercise as' something 'complex', hard to do.
Although he has talent to spare and can, ultimately, perform their duties fairly insightful way.
While, he at the same time learning, it also helps me in practice this exercise often, several times repeating the same movements ...

Após o José Júnior iniciar seu movimento com Bo Jun Da ( cortar a linha central e                                        bater) eu cubro o espaço criado por ele com Kwan Sao...

After José Júnior start their motion with Bo Da Jun (cut the center line and hit) I cover the space created by it with Kwan Sao ...

...Para logo em seguida, utilizar Lap Da...
For once ... then use Lap Da ...

....E dar sequência com Lan Da ( Lan sao combinado com soco)
And .... to follow up with Da Lan (Lan sau combined with punch)

Then we move to the fighting techniques, or as I like to call, the 'Fighting Drills'. It is precisely at this moment when the training gets more forcefulness.
We spent some basic technique will, for example, three attacks (see article in http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2013/01/tres-attacks-the-curriculum-basic-siu.html), Tan Da Da Kan, Pak Sao, etc ...

Ernani Barbosa is one of the disciples of the school and that parallel studies acupuncture. Below, it helps me to demonstrate a simple combination of Pak Choy Wan Li Sao (see blog entry of Si Fu, www.appliedwingchunsalvador.blogspot.com).

After repeating the 'Technique of the Day', we continue the training, with a few rounds of free sparring, aiming at the implementation of the previously trained technicians.
Most often, it is not a free sparring, or soft combat. But one sparring with the intention of applying the technique at the right time. Somewhat often, print a pulled over pace, fitting most striking and strong blows. But always seeking the application of the technique.

Thus, a circuit of strenuous physical training over an hour and a half, with exercises for strength, flexibility and resistance to it follows. With the already exhausted guys, it really becomes a challenge for them to get all the reps and will resist all sessions. For those who followed the posting on No Pain, No Gain, you'll understand why. http://blogdodido-dido.blogspot.com.br/2014/07/no-pain-no-gain-and-what-it-is-ver.html

After training, we sat on the mat and we spent some more theoretical concepts and always, as a rule, read the motto of our school in Salvador and I also implement my training; 'Respect to be Respected', and read the Yip Man's code of conduct.

Still, even after all this training and now after everyone leaves the mat, often keep training the technical elements of the second level and that Fu has taught me. Step a few long minutes banging a bag of giant and very heavy blows that are well placed in the entrance that leads to the mat at the school several times and repeating a single technique, or some insight ... or even trying to port just find some favorable biomechanical will given movement combined.

Thus, I end up always being the first will enter the school and always the last to leave, after cleaning all the mats and leave the equipment in order. Sometimes, with the help of students, sometimes preferring to own these small tasks, which for many, goes unnoticed, but it has great value. This value inserted to Wu De (Mo Duk), martial virtue, with which there is the discipline with which one must look at the training and ultimately, the discipline itself with its experience in several other aspects. When at times, to finish the workout, we all headed to the famous street Laser, UNICAP side of the door, to take an amazonian guarana and have a few moments of Saam Fat (kung fu life), very important part in the experience and understanding of wing chun.

The training is always hard and every day there is a challenge to be overcome in one aspect or another. It is often difficult for people to overcome their own limits, but what will last is how much you are determined enough to try to beat him, so that when a person gives up the training, it is not impossible for an external but by lack of determination, many times, we were not sad, but we celebrate his departure, because only those who persevere in training, you have the ability to move on and get as high as you can, and finish what is proposed to do, and there, will we return everything that was said in the post linked above ....

Soon, news and information about the wing chun in Brazil.

Super abraço e até a próxima
See you Later
