Vimos na postagem anterior que, dentre outras coisas, as informações que temos á mão das várias linhagens de wing chun não são nada fáceis de serem verificadas,apesar da disponibilidade. Muito embora, a maioria mestres autênticos acreditem que para um leigo, interessado na prática do wing chun, o melhor seria pesquisar muito, visitar escolas e verificar na prática tanto a autenticidade do instrutor/professor/SiFu em uma linha de transmissão autêntica, sua capacitação tanto teórica quanto prática,até decidir-se pela escolha de uma escola realmente autêntica,sendo este, o caminho mais confiável. Coisa que obviamente, muita gente prefere NÃO fazer....e isso tem um motivo.

Como se fazia para verificar se um Mestre de Wing Chun era realmente um mestre autêntico???

Imagine uma época sem internet, sem telefone e sem meios de se checar se as  informações eram válidas ou não...pois é. Era isso o que havia.Você teria que sair de casa e ir pessoalmente correr atrás de informação,se quisesse saber. Por isso, hoje em dia, muita gente ainda reclama de barriga cheia,como se diz no bordão popular. Se hoje, não é muito fácil verificar informações, imagine com todas as restrições da época? Há pelo menos 20 anos atrás, as informações não eram tão fáceis de se conseguir e quem tinha realmente condições de viajar e procurar um mestre autêntico, o fazia com muito custo.
E por essa mesma dificuldade, surgiram aqui no País um tipo de sujeito que na verdade, ainda existe,mas seu modus operandi mudou com o tempo; o mestre ''Charlatão''!

Imagine a time when no internet, no phone and no means to check if the information were valid or not ... it is. That's what havia.Você would have to leave the house and go in person chasing information if he wanted to know. So today, many people still complain of belly full, as they say in popular catchphrase. If today is not easily find information, imagine with all the restrictions of the time? There are at least 20 years ago, the information was not as easy to achieve and who really was able to travel and look for an authentic master, did so with great difficulty.
And for that same difficulty arose here in the country a kind of guy who actually still exists, but its modus operandi has changed over time; the '' Charlatan  Master''!

Isso mesmo!Naquela época, dezenas, centenas de mestres de kung fu - e especialmente wing chun - surgiam nos quatro cantos do País, assim, do nada!Quase como por milagre da virgem santíssima...

Como isso era possível?

A história do ''Meu mestre morreu e eu sou o único detentor do estilo '' caía feito uma luva, principalmente para aqueles mestiços de olhos puxados que muitas vezes diziam ser chineses, japoneses ou orientais de quaisquer que fossem as etnias,mas que eram mais brasileiros do que eu ou você. Alguns deles tinham acesso á fitas de vídeo e como bem mencionado pelo Mestre José Augusto Maciel Torres em seu livro sobre Bruce Lee,  esses caras todos eram discípulos de um mesmo mestre; o mestre ''TOSHIBA'', em referência á marca de videos-cassetes popularíssimos naquela época .

Como dito na postagem anterior, se tem quem venda, tem quem compre, e muita gente entrou nessa dança. Os mais espertos, ficavam um tempo e quando percebiam que estavam sendo ludibriados, logo, saíam de fininho. Não é a toa, que até mesmo muitos dos meus irmãos de Kung Fu, sofreram muito nas mãos de gente pilantra até chegar á escola de SiFu e se deparar com um SiFu autêntico. O choque de realidade e a surpresa é sempre notável.  Mas mesmo assim, a semente do mal já estava plantada, e estava florescendo... e ela se baseia na PREGUIÇA e na IGNORÂNCIA ( no sentido de desconhecer sobre um assunto)do leigo que não se preocupa em saber onde está enfiando o pé!

Já durante os anos 90, com toda a movimentação existente dos praticantes sérios indo buscar informações fora, e voltando para por ''ordem na casa'', o modus operandi do Pilantra teve de mudar; agora ele seguia o exemplo do Bruce Lee e ''criava'' seu próprio método!

Os absurdos eram dos mais variados. Impossível até de se listar nessa postagem, mas o foco era sempre o mesmo; Wing Chun ou o ''Kung Fu (ou caratê) do Bruce Lee.'' Quando não, era criação com mistura de termos chineses, com termos japoneses, arte da conchichina e as coisas mais estapafúrdias imagináveis. Era o famoso ''óleo de cobra'' que estava sendo vendido...sacaram?

Isso é um ponto importante; a internet mudou drasticamente a vida do cidadão comum. Tudo ficou claramente acessível e verificável. Se você hoje gasta tempo lendo esse artigo, pode não ter ideia de que se você quisesse encontrar um artigo como esse há 15 ou 20 anos atrás, ou como os que SiFu escreve, ou que o meu amigo Moy Fat Lei escreve, seria missão pra James Bond!Por isso, hoje, tudo ficou muito mais fácil.
Em conversas informais, costumo dizer que hoje em dia, em termos de luta, na prática, não existem mais leigos. Todo mundo assiste MMA. Todo mundo vê o supracitado Anderson Silva lutando, o Victor Belfort, e tantos outros, sendo assim, todo mundo sabe ao menos fazer um soco básico de boxe....
 E obviamente, os mestres 'Toshiba',que fizeram festa no passado, também acompanharam o passo, mudando de mestre; Agora eles se tornaram alunos do mestre YouTube!!


This is an important point; the internet has drastically changed the lives of ordinary people. Everything was clearly accessible and verifiable. Tem um monte de gente por ai que sabe ''Siu Lin Tao'', pelo mestre Youtube...que sabe 'Chi sao' via youtube...e isso não é só um assintomático do Wing Chun. Hoje, Anderson Silva tem todos os seus dvds tutoriais online disponíveis pra quem quiser baixar ( o que obviamente,faz com que alguém ganhe um trocado em cima dos clicks...)

Videos with tutorials 'learn-to-do-anything' abound (seriously, there is even travel by plane in the depths of the internet piloting, just remember that famous case of swindler who was going up by President of son air company) and the wing chun is no different. It has a lot of people out there who knows '' Siu Lin Tao '' by the master Youtube ... who knows 'Chi are' via youtube ... and this is not only an asymptomatic of Wing Chun. Today, Anderson Silva have all your DVDs tutorials available online for those who want to download (which obviously makes someone wins a buck over the clicks ...)

Mas a coisa vai além...Anos luz á frente dos alunos do mestre Youtube em termos de canalhice, Benny Meng e sua corja também inauguraram uma nova modalidade de Pilantragem; Difamar a história original (ou pelo menos, a mais comumente aceita pela maioria das famílias de wing chun) e vender a arte marcial das sociedades secretas como meio de vender uma farofada de wing chun - aprendido com mestres autênticos, diga-se de passagem - com estilos mais desconhecidos ainda, embalando tudo como algo recém-descoberto, e empurrar certificados á preços elevados e faturar uma boa grana com a suposta credulidade dos clientes. O Hung Bao nunca foi tão mal usado....

But it goes beyond ... Vez por outra cito o caso do Benny aqui,não porque além de tudo eu não vá com a cara dele ( e não vou, de fato) mas  porque isso tem virado uma tendência dentro das artes marciais em geral. Recentemente um repórter comprou - por uma pequena bagatela - uma ''faixa preta'' de Muay Thay. Não precisou treinar, não precisou fazer nenhum esforço, foi lá, pagou o 'exame' que nem fez, e recebeu seu certificado...quer coisa mais (falsamente) prática que isso? Você acha que isso não ocorre também no Wing Chun meu caro amigo leitor? Sabe de nada inocente...

Os Mestres realmente autênticos lutam á cada dia, para provar a especificidade de sua arte,sem recorrer á hipérboles para supracitar seu estilo, colocando seus alunos  -  propensos á tornarem-se a próxima geração de SiFus -  para enfrentar lutadores muitas vezes mais experientes em embates competitivos, honrando os ancestrais de seu Moon Phai. Ou se não por esse viés, dando um continuamento ao trabalho de seus mentores de forma idônea e honesta, garantindo a acessibilidade á um conteúdo integro. Esses SiFus,estão trabalhando constantemente , muitas vezes nem são reconhecidos, mas sabemos que seu trabalho é consistente.

Falando francamente; por tudo isso, ainda hoje, há uma maioria de escolas de Wing Chun no Brasil ( e talvez fora também) que são MUITO RUINS e as melhores escolas, acabam ''carregando'' essas péssimas escolas nas costas. O estilo ganha uma péssima reputação. Deixo claro aqui que não estou falando que uma escola ruim seja aquela que perde lutas, muito pelo contrário.Escolas que ainda hoje, saem á campo para disputar campeonatos, para verificar na prática se sua técnica é mesmo funcional, mesmo que perca uma luta, essa escola pode ser muito boa e diferenciada.Mas o critério tem que ir mais além. O critério mínimo que temos que levar em conta é se o responsável pela transmissão do conhecimento é alguém qualificado, reconhecido para tal.

Frankly speaking; for all that, even today, there is a majority of Wing Chun schools in Brazil (and perhaps outside also) that are VERY BAD and the best schools, end 'loading' 'these bad schools back. The style gets a bad reputation. I make it clear here that I am not saying that a bad school is one that loses fights, quite the contrário.Escolas that even today, will leave the field to compete in championships, to verify in practice if your technique is both functional, even if you lose a fight, this school can be very good and diferenciada.Mas the criteria needs to go further. The minimum criteria that have to take into account is the responsible for the transmission of knowledge is someone qualified, recognized for it.

Não sei se alguém notou, mas quando uso a frase ''O falso moralismo dos ''mestres'' de wing chun, eu coloco a palavra ''mestre'' entre aspas, num termo propositalmente perjorativo.Porque de fato, esses caras não são sequer praticantes sérios da arte marcial, sejam quais forem. E o que mais me irrita, principalmente nos fóruns abertos sobre wing chun, é que o nerd pançudo que não treina,não está ligado á um SiFu qualificado, que não estuda, que interpreta seu wing chun como sendo o mais ''mais'',  mas é ''mestre'' ( mestre de quê? eu realmente não sei) tem sempre o impulso de querer sempre se sobressair, inclusive rebatendo contra os argumentos dos SiFus autênticos de nona geração,ou os SiFu reconhecidamente sérios e profundos conhecedores da causa. È pedante de se ver...porque essas pessoas não tem a menor ideia de como se fazia para que uma escola de artes marciais ganhasse respeito. Com total certeza, não era APENAS debatendo em fóruns que isso era conseguido...

O Wing Chun hoje está no MMA. Isso é uma realidade. Até mesmo quem não quer ver isso, não pode mais deixar de constatar. Anderson Silva aparecendo batendo , meio desajeitado até, no Jong tem um motivo. Shaw Obasi desde que surgiu, vem defendendo a bandeira do Wing Chun também, ganhando ou perdendo lutas. Hugo ''Wolverine'' Vianna (que conheci pessoalmente durante meu treinamento regular e que na foto ao lado, aplica uma cotovelada facilmente encontrada nas formas do Wing Chun, para desespero dos céticos de plantão ), lutador participante do TUF e do UFC, faz treinamento de Wing Chun com SiFu Marcos em Salvador e  tem usado a arte com sucesso em suas lutas. Muitos lutadores que não são famosos, estão representando o estilo de forma muito competente. E mesmo assim, uma parcela de gente desconhece completamente esses fatos. Uma outra parcela critica quem trabalha duro e esses, geralmente tem as mesmas desculpas esfarrapadas, esmiuçadas neste e no artigo anterior...mas essa é só uma pequena pequena parcela do todo problema ainda á ser resolvido em relação ao Wing Chun como arte de combate, como arte tradicional, como objeto de formação de caráter e de indivíduos, como método de cultivar a saúde da mente e do corpo, como sabedoria ancestral chinesa,mas sobre tudo, como ARTE....e só o tempo nos dirá o que virá para nosso amado estilo Wing Chun...
